Why Start This Dance Mega-Crew Company
Tallahassee, FL is of course where
I grew up. I say I want to get out of this place but I always felt like I
didn’t want to at the same time. Yes I am a dancer/choreographer and I always
will be one, but in Tallahassee you don't get many or no options when it comes
to at least enjoying the experience all-in-all. In my opinion there is no good
quality one around. Let’s not forget
about the environment of the dance teams. Some dance team environments can have
good dance quality but the environment is completely sad with people who are
afraid to do anything out of the box, get full of themselves after they have
"proved" themselves, and are afraid of tough love. Some people
started dance companies/crews/squads with the complete wrong intentions like
wanting to PROVE they're the best, wanting to be the boss of their own dance
team/squad/company because they don't like being bossed around, etc. Those are
not good reasons!
My reasons for starting Xtreme
Dance Company Run much deeper. I want this community to have something that’s
worth more than just having a dance team that’s good. Invite people who wants
to express art forms through Modern Dancing as we support the new era of the
world and new generation to come (Main
art forms include Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and majorette. We WILL do other styles
as we build ourselves up more). I want to be able to pull the passion out of a
student and not just within the art of dance. I want to support them throughout
their life. I want to create a family environment of big brothers, little brothers,
big sisters, and little sisters. I want the Parents who come to support and
offer a helping hand to be there for all of their children and teenagers. I
want to create trust, love, and a drive to push ourselves further in life and
to know Xtreme team will always have their backs! I want more than the regular
dance environment. I want this atmosphere to be something that someone can run
to and call home for a little while to get away from the outside world but just
for a little while. I want this dance company to be something our community can
be proud to say I was a part of XTDC (Xtreme Dance Company) or I support them
100% and I trust my children/Teenager/young adults (Yes, we will have an adult
division for young adults) with this company.
We will not be like other
companies. We will always want more than the average company. I am never
satisfied, and I am going to use that to my advantage. I always try to find
more... Even if I don’t know what that is. I have recently learned that it is
not ok to settle for less when you can do more. It is not all about the
dancing, it's also about how you learn, what you learn, what you take away even
being humble. I don’t care if you are one of my best dancers... If I cannot see
your soul why should I put you on stage? I was once taught last year in a
workshop with TCC Dance Company that, "Just because you can dance doesn’t
mean you can perform". Following the style of X-treme Dance Company we
will have a very beasty, and fierce mentality to slay the stage and leave a
mark with a big flaming X that is permanent and impossible for the crowd to
forget! If I were to choreograph something for a Halloween event I want to
scare the souls out of everyone and to not hold back! Now of course I am
over-exaggerating but when it comes to Dancing, It's not just about dancing
it’s about acting and expressing your emotions through your body in a way that
hundreds or thousands of people can understand and feel. IT'S FUN AND IT'S
ENTERTAINING TO WATCH! So some may say "This is too much", explain
exactly what too much means. It's never enough! There is a reason we are
Xtreme! It is going to be part of our culture. Using High-energy, Intense, and
powerful movements. Not to mention this is a great way to burn energy and get
rid of frustration =D!
When
My Goal is to try to find as much
support as I can between now and the Summer/Fall of 2017. I must do a lot of
volunteering, introducing to potential clients, passing out information sheets
and business cards, and introducing to the community/schools/colleges of my new
development for the community. Hopefully it will not take longer than the time
period I specified. Would most likely happen because of some setbacks but if
